Bees are important pollinators and should be protected whenever possible, but that does not mean you want to share your property with them, especially if they are getting inside your house. Fortunately, our team at Quality Control, Inc. can provide professional bee control services to resolve the issue. In addition to providing our services, we have a few bee control tips to help you prevent them from coming indoors and from bothering you when you are outside.

Helpful Indoor & Outdoor Bee Control Tips

For Keeping Bees Out of Your House

  1. Seal Entry Points – Entry points such as cracks, gaps, and holes around windows and doors, under eaves, and in other areas can be the source of a bee population finding their way inside your house. Sealing these entry points by using caulk or making repairs will help prevent bees in the future.
  1. Install Screens – Mesh screens can be installed over vents, soffits, and chimneys to keep out the bees on your property.

For Keeping Bees Away While Outside

  1. Remove Attractants – Bees are attracted to sweet drinks, ripe fruit, and other food left lying out, so don’t leave them uncovered.
  1. Avoid Floral Perfumes – It’s best not to wear floral-scented perfume or lotions when you are outside and bees may be near because they may get in your space looking for nectar.
  1. Wear Solid, Light Colors – Dark colors can trigger defensive behavior since bees may interpret them as predators. You should also avoid floral prints, as these can confuse the bees and cause them to land on you thinking they are real flowers.
